Korydallos prison: escape of two foreign prisoners prevented

Prison guards, Korydallos penitentiary staff prevented two prisoners from escaping from the prison.

According to the General Secretariat for Combating Crime, two men, who are foreigners, began sawing through the bars in their cell with the ultimate goal of “enjoying the air of freedom” at some point.

The authorities said in a statement that a mobile phone was found in another cell, which is likely related to the escape of the two men.

The Piraeus Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation into the above incident.
