Study: "How are you, Greeks?"

Focus Bari conducted a survey that examined the attitude of the Greeks to life in the post-coronavirus period.

After nearly two years of the pandemic, Greeks are in their first year of returning to normal daily life and are called to make adjustments to both their lives and their homes. Greeks today face many social, economic and environmental challenges that have greatly influenced how people have changed their attitude towards the space in which they permanently live, and how concerned they are now with the changes and improvements they want to make to it.

According to research done by Focus Bari for the annual DYI & Home Improvement conference, the following conclusions were made:

  • As the issue of climate change grows, Greeks seem to place more importance on maintaining their home: two out of three said they are already taking steps to avoid damage from natural disasters, while three out of four are prioritizing weatherproofing their home .
  • Three out of four took at least one action on home renovationwhile the same proportion indicates the intention to make changes in the next 12 months.
  • The familiarity with computers has had a positive impact, as three out of four Greeks shop online and four out of five use online sources of information. However, shopping for home goods remains multi-channel, and offline sources of information remain important to three out of four Greeks.
  • When shopping online, Greek shoppers mainly look for detailed product descriptionsthe security of your data, the ability to check the availability of products in stores from online platforms, as well as the ability to replace a previously selected product with another one.
