Cryptoentrepreneurs "are dying like flies": third mysterious death in weeks

The Russian billionaire has become the third crypto entrepreneur to die under mysterious circumstances after his helicopter crashed near Monaco in fine weather.

53-year-old businessman Vyacheslav Taran died in a helicopter crash near the resort of Villefranche-sur-Mer after taking off from Lausanne (Switzerland). Taran is the third crypto entrepreneur to die unexpectedly in recent weeks. Tiantian Kullander, 30, died “in his sleep” last week, and another cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Nikolai Mushegyan, 29, drowned on a beach in Puerto Rico after tweeting about his fears that the CIA and Mossad would hunt him down.

Vyacheslav Taran, pictured with his wife Olga Taran in 2020, died in a helicopter crash near Villefranche-sur-Mer after taking off from Lausanne in Switzerland. His death is surrounded by mystery as the crash happened in good weather and after another passenger reportedly canceled his flight at the last minute.

Taran, co-founder of trading and investment platform Libertex and Forex Club, was flying from Lausanne with a 35-year-old experienced pilot who also died while flying a single-engine H130 helicopter when it crashed around 13:00 on November 25. The deputy prosecutor of Nice, who visited the scene, said that third parties could not be ruled out. According to local media reports, another unknown passenger was supposed to fly with Taran, but canceled the trip at the last moment.

Taran is a very successful offshore company specialist who has been living in Monaco for the last ten years and has three children with his wife Olga, founder of Hello Monaco media.

Ukrainian Information Agency UNIAN stated, without providing any evidence that Taran was a “billionaire businessman with extensive experience in cryptocurrencies and possible ties to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service,” known as the SVR. The Ukrainian news network also claimed that Taran was linked to the SVR and was responsible for “laundering Russian funds through a cryptocurrency business scheme.”

“It is with great sadness that Libertex Group confirms the death of its co-founder and chairman of the board of directors, Vyacheslav Taran, in a helicopter crash that occurred en route to Monaco on Friday 25 November 2022,” the company said in a statement. – The Board of Directors and employees of the company express their deepest condolences to the family. Taran was a well-known and respected businessman who was described by all who had the good fortune to know him as kind-hearted, kind and humble.”

An official investigation into the crash has been launched by the French authorities and Airbus, the manufacturers of the H130.
