Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who is in London to attend the Greek Investment Conference co-hosted by the Athens Stock Exchange and Morgan Stanley, will meet King Charles III at Windsor Castle on Monday evening.
According to Skai TV, they will discuss a project to restore and develop the former royal estate in Tatoi, north of Athens.
Charles, then the Prince of Wales, visited Tatoi in 2021 as part of his trip to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the start of the Greek War of Independence from the Ottoman Empire.
A foundation founded by Charles, the Prince’s Foundation, is said to be advising on restoration plans. The Foundation manages Dumfries House, an important 18th century British heritage site in Scotland.
Mitsotakis attended a meeting of members of his New Democracy party in London. On Monday, he will meet managers and potential investors at a conference and visit Windsor Castle at 7pm.
Later on Monday, Mitsotakis will meet with Kevin Featherstone, Eleftherios Venizelos Professor of Contemporary Greek Studies and Professor of European Politics at the London School of Economics, and director of the Hellenic Observatory, which was founded 25 years ago.
