Plane crash: in Russian Yeysk, a military plane crashed in a residential area

A Su-34 military aircraft, a fighter-bomber with full ammunition, crashed in Yeysk, Krasnodar Territory.

The Kommersant publication, referring to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, reports:

“On October 17, 2022, while climbing to perform a training flight from the military airfield of the Southern Military District, a Su-34 aircraft crashed. The aircraft crashed within the city of Yeysk.”

A front-line bomber with full ammunition fell in the courtyard of the house 20/1 on Kommunisticheskaya Street, Interfax writes. Veniamin Kondratiev, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, reported on the Telegram channel:

“Emergency services are already working on the spot – all regional and regional fire and rescue garrisons are engaged in extinguishing the fire.”

Kondratyev clarifies that as a result of the plane crash, a fire broke out in a nine-story building, the fire engulfed from the first to the ninth floors. According to preliminary data, 17 apartments were damaged.

The video from the scene in social networks shows how the flames cover a multi-storey residential building, explosions are heard, thick black smoke rises.

The Ministry of Defense reported that the cause of the crash was the ignition of one of the engines during takeoff. The pilots managed to eject.
