Pleuris: "This is one of the best decisions we have made."

Responding to a question about the fate of unvaccinated health workers suspended from work, Greek Health Minister Thanos Plevris said speaking at open:

“I have been asked many times about this government decision. And I support him, and I think that it was one of the most correct decisions that we made. People who don’t believe in science should be out ΕΣΥ (Greek health system). Even recent studies show that the unvaccinated transmit more than the vaccinated. As Minister of Health, I could not bear the burden of responsibility for infecting a cancer patient, an infection from an unvaccinated doctor.”

According to the Minister of Health, writes CNN Greece, the decision on unvaccinated medical workers and their return to ΕΣΥ will be evaluated in October. He noted that the measure was recognized as constitutional. And also explained that since this is indeed a measure that greatly affects the personality of a person, it should be evaluated at regular intervals: “In this sense, it will be evaluated in October, we are waiting for data for October. In total, ΕΣΥ employs 107,000 people, and 2,100 unvaccinated people.
