Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites were destroyed by Russian lasers?

In recent days, in the border city of Belgorod, located 70 km from Kharkov, and in other parts of Russia, Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites were “fired” with combat lasers from the Peresvet system, as a result, Ukrainian troops were left without the Internet, which led to heavy losses.

financial times straight accused Elon Musk (owner of SpaceX) that he “dropped” the network in Ukraine to help Russia! Starlink is not just an Internet provider for Ukraine, a Financial Times author reports, citing a Ukrainian military source: “Starlink is our oxygen. If we tell Musk to leave and take Starlink with him, our army will be in chaos.” In other words, the American publication confirmed that the Ukrainian army relies on Elon Musk’s satellite Internet to coordinate, command and control its forces.

According to the Greek military publication defencenet.gr, Russian combat lasers hit the Starlink satellites, as the Russians realized that the withdrawal of such equipment would not lead to diplomatic problems – they are private. At the same time, Russia did not touch state satellites (ie British, French, American, Israeli), despite the fact that they could, in principle, easily destroy them.

As you know, the armed forces of Ukraine, especially the GRU and SBU special forces, actively use mobile communication and guidance systems at the base, thanks to the Starlink system created by Elon Musk.

Last week after publications Elon Musk’s statements about the call for negotiations with Russia, a scandal erupted. The mask was poured with mud at all levels, from ordinary users to the President of Ukraine. The scandal did not have time to subside when there were reports that, they say, Musk was offended and turned off the Internet in some areas of hostilities and in the Crimea.

Now 12,000 Starlink terminals operate on the territory of Ukraine. This is the highest figure in Europe. According to a Ukrainian official, Elon Musk rejected Kyiv’s request to make Starlink available in the Crimean region, while according to another, “Ukraine has been experiencing problems with Starlink since September 30”.

The publication cited the statements of the Ukrainian military, who report that during the counter-offensive in the south-east of Ukraine, they had malfunctions in the terminals.

The article also said that thousands of Starlink terminals were purchased by the US government and donors to help Ukrainian forces operate drones, obtain critical intelligence and communicate with each other in areas where there are no other secure networks. Musk focused on this aspect.

After the satellites began to “disappear”, communication became unavailable in many areas. And that is why the armed forces of Ukraine and the special forces of the SBU and the Armed Forces of Ukraine have significantly reduced the number of attacks on the enemy in recent days.

We have entered a new era where war is moving into space.
