No one came to the funeral of the killer of his wife and child

Yesterday (1/10) a 56-year-old cattle breeder was buried, who committed a monstrous murder and committed suicide in the village of Lekani (Kavala). Only close relatives came to see him off on his last journey, and the father of the deceased decided to “avoid shame.”

The bodies of a 31-year-old German woman and her 10-month-old baby, brutally murdered by a farmer, are expected to be returned to their homeland for burial. The mother of the deceased and the baby’s grandmother asked for it.

The heartbroken woman lives in Germany, although she herself comes from Lekani, a village that turned out to be fatal, putting an end to the fate of her daughter and grandson, whom she did not even have time to see. The inhabitants of Lekani, a small picturesque village at the foot of a mountain, are still shocked by the double crime.

The forensic medical examination is shocking: first the tyrant killed the child, and then his beloved. Then he committed suicide. According to the conclusion of the forensic expert Nikolaos Kythnidis, the perpetrator of the monstrous murder first shot the baby, to whom he was the father. He put the baby on the ground and fired a shot. It is hard to imagine what the mother experienced at that moment, before whose eyes an unprecedented atrocity was committed.

The perpetrator shot his child with his single-barrel gun (and used bird shrapnel). The death of the baby was instantaneous, while 10 pellets were found in his body. Then the criminal reloaded his gun, this time with bullets that kill wild boars, and fired again – in the back of his ex, the beautiful Anna. She also died instantly, an explosive bullet damaging her lungs, heart, and part of her liver. Six bullet fragments were found in the woman’s body.

Having committed a monstrous crime, having killed his own child and beloved, the pathologically jealous farmer twice tried to commit suicide. He aimed the weapon at his heart, but his first attempt at suicide failed as it seemed to slip out of his hands. Then the man first shot himself, pointing the gun at a different angle, but only succeeded in breaking a couple of ribs.

Death, apparently, was not going to “take him with him.” The man then reloaded the gun and this time put the barrel in his mouth and fired, resulting in instant death.

“He was a tyrant and considered his wife and child his property,” neighbors say, still in shock.

A man shot his wife and their newborn child with a hunting rifle and then committed suicide. According to preliminary information, the killer and his “civilian” wife (cohabitant) have recently lived separately. However, conflicts over custody of their child, who was 10 months old, became more frequent. The fatal “reference point” that brought the man into a frenzy was the message of his “ex” that she was going to leave, taking the baby with her.

It is reported that before committing the murder, he informed his cousin about it, calling him and asking him to come. The farmer’s relative, not understanding anything from the abrupt phrases, rather rushed into the house (to the cattle pen where it all happened) and found all three dead.

How it all began

The woman “on her own business” came about six years ago to the village (her mother’s homeland), as well as where her grandparents lived from Germany, where she grew up.

Here she met a farmer, with whom she had taken up and lived together for the past few years, and had given birth to a child by him less than a year ago. The couple was unmarried, but the man acknowledged the child.

On the eve of the tragedy, they had child custody trial won by his mother. According to preliminary data, recently the spouses had violent “showdowns”, since the young mother could no longer endure the dull life in the village (the last one in the mountain range of the region).

How the tragedy happened

According to kavalanews.gr, this morning the farmer offered to go for a walk in the mountains together. The woman agreed, although she was very afraid, and therefore asked a neighbor to call her every half an hour. Also, according to kavalanews.gr, it was during a walk on the mountain that the tyrant killed his beloved and their child, and then committed suicide.

According to the Proininews website from Kavala, the woman intended to leave for Germany with the child to settle family matters, since her father had recently died, and probably did not plan to return to Greece.
