A strong earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale occurred on Sunday morning off the coast of Crete.
Recall that on 24/08 Crete was shaken by an earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale, which was also recorded in this region – the Lassithi coast. The epicenter was located 23 kilometers north/northeast of Sitia. The depth of the outbreak was estimated at 13 kilometers.
Seismologists suggest that a series of these tremors may be followed by others. In general, the region has an unstable seismological situation.
According to the Geodynamic Institute, the epicenter of the earthquake is located in the sea, 74 km south of Guduras (Гουδουρά), and the depth of the focus is 8 km.
According to the information, the earthquake was felt in the southern regions of Lasithi, but no damage or casualties were reported.
