Greek island ‘paradise’ for climbers, rated by the Times

The British Times calls Kalymnos the best climbing destination in Greece.

A recent article in The Times talks about the most exciting off-season destinations in Greece. And the island of Kalymnos has become the best offer for … climbers.

The article emphasizes that the Greek economy is experiencing a successful tourist season, which continues even after its end, in August. The Times colorfully describes islands where you can relax away from the crowds of tourists and which are suitable for “recharging” your batteries.

The island of Kalymnos is one of the best climbing destinations in the world. Visitors can admire the aesthetics of picturesque villages, outstanding examples of neoclassical art with art deco elements, an impressive harbor and the Archaeological Museum with its bronze “Κυρά της Καλύμνου” from the 4th century BC.

In addition, the Times also speaks in enthusiastic terms about the islands:

  • Simi (for lovers of delicious food),
  • Agistri (for cycling and hiking),
  • Folegandros (for enjoying romantic sunsets),
  • Serifos for moments of solitude and philosophizing,
  • Ithaca (visits to historical sites),
  • Tinos (for lovers of water sports),
  • Paxos (for sailing),
  • Hydra (for fans of rest without a car).

“We will update journalists and agencies such as the EOT offices about the multi-faceted opportunities for off-season tourism destinations in the Greek islands, as outlined in the Times article. We want Kalymnos to be featured by major international media. Although the global uncertainty caused by the pandemic has so far been an obstacle to new initiatives, we are dynamically returning to the field of organizing themed tourism events on the island,” added Kalymnia Mayor Dimitris Diakomichalis.
