In Rethymnon, Crete, a 13-year-old girl tried to cut her wrists on a playground in front of her parents and other children.
On the afternoon of September 22, in Perama Mylopotamos (Rethymno, Crete) in the city center, a nightmarish event occurred: a girl decided to commit suicide on a playground.
According to neakriti.gr, a girl from India, who permanently lives in Perama with her family, went alone to the playground yesterday around 7:30 pm, where at that time there were other children with their parents who looked after their children.
Suddenly, in front of everyone, the teenager began to cut her veins with a razor, which she took out of her pocket. Parents, seeing the bloodied girl, began to scream and call for help, while at the same time removing their own children from the playground so that they would not witness this cruel impression for their psyche.
At this time, quite by chance, there was a squad of patrol service nearby. Employees rushed to the scene and tried in every possible way to stop the bleeding on the hands of the child. The victim was first taken to the local medical center and then to the Rethymnon hospital, and in the evening she was transferred to the hospital in Heraklion. At present, the girl’s life is not in danger.
The police authorities conducting a preliminary investigation into this strange case have already taken testimony from the parents of the failed suicide, who are still in shock and are trying to understand the reasons that prompted their child to this act.
The information also states that a psychiatric examination will be carried out on the child in the coming hours.
