Vanity Fair: “Paradise Greece – just reach out”

As the most suitable holiday destination if you are planning to travel at the last minute, Greece is marked by the Italian Vanity Fair platform.

The popular resource Vanity Fair, which is trusted by millions of readers, offers a “bouquet” of the following areas:

  • Cyclades,
  • Dodecanese Islands,
  • Northern Greece,
  • Peloponnese,
  • Crete.

These are tourist destinations that offer to “please the Italians” with their secluded beaches, great cuisine, rich history and Greek culture.

Particular attention is paid to Astypalea as a sustainable island with its peaceful aura, Iosu, which combines fun, exotic beaches and ancient monuments, and Elounda as an ideal place for a luxurious holiday.

The list also includes Leipsos and Antiparos with their white winding streets, elegant Tinos, spectacular Halkidiki with its countless beaches, and Messinia with its picturesque fishing villages and endless olive groves.

The authorities of the islands (proposed holiday destinations) expressed their opinion on this matter: “This year, between May and August, Ios exceeded the number of arrivals in 2019. We found that the interest of travelers has spread beyond entertainment to other areas: sightseeing tourism (visiting attractions), gastronomy, and relaxing on the beaches.

Cultural pastimes can also play a role in the off-season, as evidenced by festival on the island of Ios, which takes place for the second year in a row.

The municipal authorities of the island make many decisions (installation of underground garbage cans, reduction of waste water resources, use of vehicles with environmentally friendly engines, etc.) to make tourists feel comfortable here.

“Astypalea has presented very satisfactory figures for tourism this season. Booking of tourist property is close to 100%. Travelers will continue to visit the island in September. It is very encouraging that visitors and residents are responding positively to the green innovations of the municipality through increased use of on-demand public transport and carsharing services with electric vehicles,” said Nikos Komineas, Mayor of Astypalea.
