It is very hard for people aged 45 years and older in terms of the fact that they cannot find a job. In particular, they cannot find work, both because of the working conditions and because companies prefer younger people.
ΔΥΠΑ/ΟΑΕΔ continues to develop a business subsidy program to employ 10,000 unemployed people aged 45 and over in high unemployment areas. The unemployed will receive 951 euros for 18 months and their wages will be subsidized by ΔΥΠΑ up to 80%.
The goal is to help both the unemployed to find employment (and receive a regular salary) and private companies (generally private sector employers who carry out regular economic activities) in terms of subsidies. Priority regions:
- Western Macedonia,
- Western Greece,
- Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,
- Thessaly,
- Central Greece,
- Central Macedonia,
- Epirus.
Particular attention will be paid to enterprises operating in the sectors of the “green” and “digital” economy. A prerequisite for listing a company is that it has not made redundancies during the last quarter prior to the filing date for listing (in the calendar plan). Unemployed beneficiaries do not apply themselves, but are indicated in the memorandum of association only by the competent service (KPA 2) where the headquarters or branch where they will be employed is located, in accordance with the requested specialties, as they were declared when applying for accession from enterprises . The total duration of the subsidized employment program is 18 months.
