Authorities warn of wild boars in Athens

In particular, three signs were placed in the Haidari area, near monastery Daphne, towards Athens.

According to aftodioikisi.gr, wild boars have found shelter in a nearby grove, which, in search of food, reach Afinon Avenue in the city. Therefore, drivers should be especially careful on this particular section of the road and slow down in order to have time to react to the appearance of “uninvited guests” on the highway.

Increase in the wild boar population incl. and in the territory of the settlements of the country poses a serious danger for drivers of cars or motorcycles who can crash into animals walking calmly on the roadway.

The accidents that have already been recorded are numerous, and many of them are serious, as some people have died as a result of some accidents.

As the Athenian News wrote earlier, collision of a car with a herd of wild boarswhich ended up on the highway in Tempi, almost cost the driver his life.

The man sitting behind the wheel survived, thanks to pure chance, when suddenly there was a herd of wild boars in front of him, he did not even have time to apply the brakes to avoid a collision!

A traffic accident was recorded in PAΘΕ, at the height of the tunnels in Tempi. According to information, everything happened around 02:00 am, when the driver of the car, moving along the highway, noticed a herd of 4-5 wild boars in front of him. Despite his best efforts, he could not avoid a collision.

An EKAB ambulance arrived at the scene. The man reportedly suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Larisa General Hospital.
