The Greek police continue to check in Crete in the context of action and operational planning to combat various offenses.
According to a statement from the Police Headquarters of the Crete Region, targeted operations were carried out in the areas of the municipalities of Hersonissos, Chania and Platanias. The raid covered the full range of police powers and included checking people, cars at the scene of incidents. Arrests and confiscations were made.
Specifically, according to the results: 650 people and 350 cars were checked. 62 traffic violations confirmed and 26 people arrested: four for driver’s license revocation, eight for fraud (cheating customers), four for drug violations, four for disorderly conduct, two for suspension of entertainment establishments, one for illegal street vending and three for exceeding the volume of the sound in the bar. In addition, small quantities of cocaine and marijuana, as well as manufactured goods, were confiscated.
Such operational activities, whose main characteristics are the strengthening of the presence of the police and the implementation of targeted control, will continue in all regions of Crete.
