Gangs of underage gangs create fear and terror, especially on certain routes and bus lines. Young people even tried to set fire to the bus, which was 14 people.
The “horror” route started from the Mint (Νομισματοκοπείο) with the destination of Artemis. On St. Paraskeva Square, a group of 8 minors got on the bus. And as soon as the bus arrived at the suburban station of Pallini, they began to rage.
“I see a guy, stripped to the waist, who starts to open the hatch, rips it off with an effort,” says the bus driver. But that was only the beginning. A few stops later, a passenger screams in fear that her seat is on fire.
The driver stops a public vehicle to find out what’s going on.
“The hooligans have already taken out two boxes of matches, lit them and threw them at the passengers and on the seats next to them,” the driver added.
In an attempt to keep his cool, the driver tries to “rebuke” the minors by ordering them to stop their misbehavior. Simultaneously calling the police and firefighters, as 14 passengers were endangered. “There were quite a lot of elderly people in the cabin, and I was afraid that if the seat caught fire from the match, the bus would burn down in just 10 minutes!” he says.
Bus drivers on this route tell MEGA about the moments of horror they often experience because of the “attacks” and rampages perpetrated by a group of minors.
“Something must be done. The situation has reached a dead end. And our lives are in danger, we have families, we have children,” says the witness.
Passengers are also in constant fear, as they say they have repeatedly encountered similar incidents.
The 14- and 15-year-old “rioters” who smashed the bus and frightened the passengers have been arrested. A criminal case has been initiated against them.
