"Burning money"… really

The provocative gesture of the 18-year-old Moroccan prince outraged the public: he burned a 500-euro banknote in Mykonos for fun.

A young man, born a prince and raised without any sense of reality, burns through an unspecified amount of “family income” in one night just to “have a good time with friends in Mykonos”. This is Prince Moulay Hassan of Morocco. It was he who chose the island of the Winds for his vacation and even provoked indignation (and not laughter, as he apparently assumed) of the public with his attitude when he decided to burn 500 euros “for fun”.

In particular, the prince was caught by a paparazzi camera a few days ago in Mykonos, and this news spread around the Internet. At a party with his friends, he fooled around by burning 500 euro banknotes. The sheer stupidity of the act was “underestimated”. After all, the basic salary of a waiter on the same island does not exceed 600 euros.

Who is the Prince of Morocco and when will he ascend the throne?

From the age of 10, Moulay Hassan has been preparing to one day become the king of Morocco, as he will succeed his father Mohammed VI on the throne. However, he does not cease to be a child who, as age dictates, “breaks out” (“flies off the coils”) at the first opportunity. King Mohammed’s eldest son has been accompanying his father on official occasions for several years, to be ready to assume his duties when the time comes to succeed him.

Challenging Behavior

The Moroccan prince actually became “famous” a few years ago when he spontaneously wiped his hand every time someone kissed it, as a handshake is a mandatory greeting among the country’s high society.

In the upbringing of the future king, his mother Lala Salma, a woman of great influence, the first wife of the king of the region, who received the title of princess, played a significant role, since women are usually not given royal titles.

Princess Lala Salma was married to King Mohammed VI of Morocco for 16 years and divorced at the end of 2018, but retains the title of former Queen Princess as she is the mother of Crown Prince Moulay Hassan.

The Prince of Morocco has a special love for Greece

This is not the first time the prince of Morocco has come to Greece for a holiday. Both he and his family visited Corfu in August 2014, Mykonos and Kyllini in 2015, and in 2019 Princess Lala Salma and her son vacationed in Skiathos. During a trip to Skiathos in July 2019, the royal family chartered the luxury yacht Serenity for €550,000 per week.

This year, the young prince wanted to visit our country on his own. And indulged in the pleasures available to him.
