The microbes that cause food poisoning are often not perceived by the taste, smell or appearance of the product, according to ΕΟΔΥ.
We’ve all probably eaten something left in the fridge, but it’s a big mistake to sniff food that’s been in the fridge for a long time or bite off a small piece to see if it’s gone bad. According to ΕΟΔΥ, even a small amount of spoiled food that has not been properly preserved can lead to food poisoning.
What we need to know is the recommended storage time for food in the refrigerator and/or freezer. Only within these time frames can food be safely consumed (photos of the tables are given below).
Information regarding food storage:
- In the refrigerator at a temperature of 4.4 ° C and below.
- In the freezer at a temperature of minus 17.8 ° C and below.
