Elderly man found 1,900 euros in an ATM and was charged with theft

A 71-year-old resident of Greece, who was waiting in line at an ATM and was behind a woman trying to withdraw money, got into trouble.

The lady tried to withdraw a large amount in ATM, but for some reason she could not do it. Then she went to the bank branch (inside the premises) to find out what the problem was.

Within a few minutes while she was at the bank office, the 1,900 euros that she requested from the ATM were issued by the mechanism.

The delay was due to some malfunction of the ATM (or slow recalculation of the requested amount for withdrawal from the card). As soon as the old man saw them, he pocketed the money and hurried away before the recipient returned!

The woman was shocked when the officers informed her that the seizure was normal and immediately called the police. The guards who arrived at the department requested footage from surveillance cameras and immediately found out who coveted the “alien”.

The ensuing investigation identified the man who was charged with theft.
