Amnesty International today in its report condemned the Kyiv government for war crimes against civilians in Ukraine!
International non-governmental organization Amnesty International statedthat the Armed Forces of Ukraine “endanger” the civilian population by creating military bases, as well as using weapons in schools and hospitals. Such tactics violate international humanitarian law and endanger the lives of citizens, the statement said.
Specifically, the organization says in its report that “After a four-month investigation, we have all the evidence we need to show that the Ukrainian army is setting up military bases in schools and hospitals and launching attacks from residential areas, putting civilians at risk, tactics that violate international humanitarian law,” which fully confirms the relevant complaints of Russia.
Amnesty International Secretary General Agnès Callamard stressed that the organization has documented how the Ukrainian military “violates the laws of war when they operate in populated areas.” She added that “the defensive stance does not exempt the Ukrainian military from respecting international humanitarian law.”
The article also contains reports of eyewitnesses. For example, the mother of a 50-year-old man killed in a June 10 rocket attack in a village south of Nikolaev told Amnesty International that the Ukrainian military “lived close to their house” and her son brought them food. When he once again went with food, a blow was struck in the area, the man died. His mother said: “He was killed on the spot. His body was torn to shreds. Our house was partially destroyed.”
In Bakhmut, several residents told Amnesty International that the Ukrainian military used a building located just 20 meters across the street from a high-rise residential building. On May 18, a Russian missile hit the facade of a building, partially destroying five apartments and damaging nearby buildings.
According to Amnesty International, the Ukrainian military launched strikes from populated residential areas and was also based in civilian buildings in 19 towns and villages across Ukraine. At the same time, facilities were available for defense that did not endanger the lives of citizens, human rights activists say.
“The military should never use hospitals for combat and should only use civilians’ schools or homes as a last resort when there are no viable alternatives.”, summed up Callamar.
At the same time, the organization claims that Russia has not always attacked facilities where the Ukrainian military is located. For example, this concerned some districts of Kharkiv or cities in the Donbass, as well as the Mykolaiv region, the statement says *.
Earlier, Amnesty International published several materials with accusations against the Russian military. Among them were statements on the deaths of civilians in Kharkiv as a result of the use of cluster bombs and unguided rockets, as well as attack to the Drama Theater in Mariupol on March 16 using two air bombs with a capacity of 500 kg * in TNT equivalent. The Russian Defense Ministry then stated that the theater building was mined and blown up by soldiers of the Ukrainian Azov battalion.
This statement exposes the statements of Western governments incl. and Greek, that “Russians bombed civilians”as was the case in Mariupol, they not only did not bomb them, but also delayed its capture, because the neo-Nazis of Azov used civilians as a “human shield”.
The basement in the Mariupol maternity hospital, which the Mitsotakis government “instructed to restore”, was used as the headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the premises inside became to the ammunition depots!
Anti-personnel mines of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “sowed” Donetsk. Civilians suffered.
Stories of local residents from Mariupol (This Dendias will not watch 100%)
Ukrainian edition Focus, released an article entitled “In the hands of idiots. Why Amnesty International has lost touch with reality”which accused Amnesty International, calling it “! a miserable organization that has long lost touch with reality and is in the hands of useful idiots in half with scum. But we should understand that the very fact of the appearance of such a statement, the very idea of its occurrence (as well as the whole of Amnesty International as an organization) is based on the inherently Christian desire for pity for all, which the predominantly anti-religious left has raised its flags.”
Other Ukrainian publications have gone even further, accusing human rights activists of “working for Putin.” And the Office of the President of Ukraine replied that only the Russian army threatens the lives of Ukrainians, and Amnesty International’s statements are nothing more than participation in Russia’s discrediting campaign against Ukraine. Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said he was outraged by Amnesty International’s statement and considered it unfair.
Ukrainian and Russian social media mobs and trolls: they are all at it today attacking @amnesty investigations. This is called war propaganda, disinformation, misinformation. This wont dent our impartiality and wont change the facts. https://t.co/YvMy2E3d6p
