Fire in Aspropyrgos: a lumber warehouse is on fire

Residents of Aspropyrgos received a message from Emergency Alert 112 indicating the danger from heavy smoke in the area due to a fire that broke out earlier in a lumber yard.

The fire broke out at 18:00 in a lumber and pallet warehouse. The mobilization of the fire department was immediate, but the burning flammable materials make it difficult for firefighters to do their job.

What worries the firefighters is the fact that the fire is burning near the oil refinery.

Message 112: “Close windows, doors for smoke protection”, the emergency warning service said in a statement. The warning has a range of 3 kilometers from the point of fire. 20 firefighters with 8 vehicles are on the scene.

Stopped traffic on some streets. In connection with the fire at the enterprise in the area of ​​Aspropyrgos, the movement of vehicles was stopped:

1) along Agia Marina street from the height of the intersection with Kon / know Karamanli street;

2) along Agia Marina street from the height of its intersection with Trapezontos street;

3) along Konstantin Karamanli street from the height of the intersection with Koritsas street to Kyprian Agoniston street.
