Who and when will receive a voucher for replacing old electrical appliances with new, energy-saving ones will become known today.
More than 250,000 households are expected on the list of winners, and the number of applications has exceeded 900,000. The ministerial decision will be published with application numbers, not names. The beneficiaries will then be informed through the platform on which they applied.
Competent sources newsbeast.gr explain that once the beneficiaries are disclosed, there will be a period of approximately one week for filing objections and then vouchers will be issued. Until September 16, it will be possible to purchase new devices, regardless of their type – air conditioners, refrigerators or freezers.
The total allocated funds amount to 150 million euros and provide subsidies for the replacement of electrical appliances for 250,000 households. Energy Minister Kostas Skrekas emphasized that the goal is to find additional resources to reach as many households as possible out of the approximately 900,000 who applied.
It is not yet clear whether additional resources have been found, although some information indicates that the number of beneficiaries is estimated to be less than 300,000 to date. The percentage of the subsidy increases depending on income and additional quotas for vulnerable households, single-parent families and large families, as well as people with special needs.
