The titanic struggle continued all night with the raging fire in Pendeli, leaving burnt houses behind – according to preliminary information, they are in Drafi, Palea Pendeli, Gerakas, Panorama Pallini, Anthus.

At 2:00 am, an emergency message was sent for immediate evacuation from Pendeli: “If you are in the Pendeli areas and in the area of ​​​​military hospital 414, evacuate in the direction of Vrilissia.”

At about 3 am, “112” appealed to everyone who is in the eastern regions of Gerakas with a request to immediately evacuate in the direction of Agia Paraskevi.

At 03:55 Attiki Odos was closed from the Kifisias junction to the Anthousa junction and from the 20 Markopoulou-Koropi junction due to the fire spreading to the Anthousi area.

Drafi, Anthusa, Dioni and Dasamari were previously evacuated. Shortly before 20:00, a message was sent from number 112 to the residents of Anthousa to immediately evacuate their homes and head to Gerakas, and shortly after 20:15 a similar evacuation order was issued to the residents of Dioni and Dasamari in the direction of Pallini.

Around 03:55 Attiki Odos was closed from the Kifisia junction to the Anthousi junction and from the Markopoulou-Koropi junction 20 due to a strong fire raging in the Penteli area and spreading to the Anthousi area.

With the first rays of the sun, two helicopters began to drop water. The wind doesn’t stop. A fire department spokesman in an emergency message says:

“The fire is complex, the wind speed at maximum values ​​exceeds 80 kilometers per hour. The first priority is the protection of human life and the protection of vital public infrastructure and private property.”

He said that 600 people were evacuated to safe places, 5 messages about organized evacuation were sent from number 112. Residential buildings damaged. 485 firefighters, 28 brigades of foot units, 120 vehicles, Romanian firefighters are involved in fighting the fire. As of this morning, traffic has been restored to Attiki Odos in the direction of the airport. The exits to Marathonos and Anthousa remain closed.

Social assistance centers were evacuated during the night. Firefighters and citizens with breathing problems and minor injuries have been taken to Athens hospitals for treatment, EKAB said in a statement. On call 166 (at 05:45): 3 firefighters with respiratory problems and injuries were taken to GA 251, 5 civilians were taken to Gennimatas with minor burns, 3 Red Cross and 1 Rescue with breathing problems.

ΕΛΑΣ continued to switch traffic to Marathonos Ave., on the stream to Nea Makri at the Ag crossroads. Paraskevi, on Spaton Ave. and on the roads of Evrytania and Cyprus on the stream to Athens.
