Apply for the Tourism Professions Training and Internship Program

Today, on Tuesday July 19, 2022, at 18:00, an online one starts to receive students in seven experimental professional schools (πειραματικές επαγελματικές σχ.επας) of the State Employment Service (δημόσιας απαπ alone απααση) the field of tourism and hospitality.

Applications are made exclusively online, via gov.gr with TAXISnet codes (gov.gr → Εκπαίδευση → Εγγραφή σε σχολείο → Εγγραφή σε πειραματική επαγγγελματΠΑκή σχολ), informs dikaiologitika.gr.

The following persons are eligible to apply:

  • aged 18 years and over,
  • having a high school diploma or other equivalent or higher qualification.
  • for the specialty “Hotel Receptionist” you need a good knowledge of a foreign language (English or French, or German).

Good knowledge of a foreign language is desirable for the specialties “Master Culinary” and “Master of Food Production”. Experimental ΕΠΑΣ will be opened in seven cities (Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Crete, Mytilene, Patras and Rhodes) and will use a dual system of education combining theoretical and practical training.

The remuneration corresponds to 25.27 euros for each day of training, which, in total, will last 12 months.

As stated in the related announcement, ΔΥΠΑ’s cooperation with the Hellenic German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Institute of the Association of Hellenic Tourism Enterprises (INSETE), which have extensive experience in the field of vocational education and tourism, guarantees internships for students at enterprises in the tourism industry (in 4- and 5-star hotels)while at the same time supporting the prospect of their professional employment in the future (after graduation).

The specialties of the seven ΕΠΑΣ for the 2022-2023 academic year are as follows:

Heraklion, Crete

  1. Hotel administrator.
  2. Cook (chef).
  3. Food technologist.

Thessaloniki

  1. Hotel administrator.
  2. Food technologist.

Corfu

  1. Hotel administrator.

Mytilene

  1. Culinary (Chef)
  2. Food technologist.

Patras

  1. Food technologist.

Rhodes

  1. Hotel administrator
  2. Culinary (Chef)

As stated in the announcement, ΔΥΠΑ students:

  • will undergo internships in companies with payment and insurance,
  • receive training in modern and fully equipped laboratories,
  • will be provided with the necessary books and manuals,
  • are trained under the supervision of experienced and highly qualified teachers,
  • have the right to deferment from military conscription,
  • receive housing and food allowance (those who are entitled to it).
