In Patras, a 49-year-old man died of a heart attack outside the hospital walls.
A man with signs of a heart attack turned on Wednesday evening to the Thessaloniki City Hospital “Άγιος Ανδρέας”. However, there … there was no doctor on duty, since the hospital was not on duty that day, and the man was sent to another medical institution – the university hospital tempo24.
However, the man was not destined to get to her – when he went out into the street, he died. Relatives of the deceased claim that he told doctors about acute pain, indicating a heart attack, but doctors ignored calls for help.
An investigation is underway, according to Ilias Theodoropoulos, head of the Άγιος Ανδρέας hospital. He claims that, according to the testimony of employees, the man arrived there in his car, saying that he was suffering from back pain from the cold, while referring to the conclusion of his personal doctor.
The health facility security called a nurse who spoke to him, and he told her that he was in pain, probably from the cold. The nurse advised him to go to the Rio hospital, which was on duty, to undergo the necessary tests. According to the testimony of the staff, the man left without showing any signs that his condition was serious and critical. The head of the hospital says:
“His age, the fact that he arrived alone in his car, walked and communicated normally, did not indicate anything alarming to the staff.”
He speaks of an unfortunate incident that will be fully investigated. Clarifying that any citizen who goes to the hospital in critical condition receives proper treatment and medical care, regardless of whether the hospital is on duty or not.
