25-year-old Greek, member of the Foreign Legion, smashed the bar, beat the barista and visitors

The 25-year-old Greek, serving in the Foreign Legion, got drunk, rioted in a bar – beat up customers and staff, damaged the institution, and then disappeared.

Scenes of chaos unfolded on Monday evening at a nightclub on the island of Hydra, where the “protagonist” turned out to be a Greek soldier serving in the Foreign Legion. A man who is a permanent resident of France, after drinking alcohol, became enraged and caused serious material damage to the bar: he broke glasses and bottles of alcoholic beverages, after which he beat an employee who tried to calm him down. The enraged brawler attacked other bar patrons who tried to stop him, and then disappeared.

In the morning, the hooligan was noticed while boarding the “Flying cat” high-speed ship, which runs on the Hydra-Piraeus route, and upon arrival at the port of Piraeus, he was arrested. During a search of his travel bag, the following were found and seized:

  • dagger with a blade length of 8.5 cm;
  • brass knuckles;
  • folding police baton.

A criminal case has been initiated against the man for violating the law on weapons, for causing bodily harm, insults, threats and damage to property.
