Crete: big fire in the hotel, residents evacuated

Extinguishing continues the fire that broke out around 5 pm in the hotel complex “Arina Beach Resort”, located in Hersonissos, in the area of ​​Kokkini Hani in Crete. The fire reportedly started in the kitchen and engulfed most of the hotel.

The photographs show how thick smoke enveloped the entire building. By this time, the flames had been contained in the kitchen in the basement, where the fire started shortly after 5 p.m. Thanks to the ventilation system of the building, thick smoke entered the hotel rooms.
