Alas, with the advent of summer in Greece, forest fires rage again in the country. A large-scale fire has been recorded on Evia and Elis, and there are fears that the flames could get out of control due to strong winds blowing in the area.
The second fire originated in the coastal zone of Spiantz, where 19 firefighters with two groups of military units and three vehicles are currently working. From the air, two fire planes are fighting the fire element.
The third fire started in the agroforestry complex (Stamatelaika, Elida). Ground and air forces were mobilized to put out the fire. 25 firefighters, 2 groups of foot units, 6 pieces of equipment and 2 specialized vehicles are working at the site.
The fire in Yaltra (Evia) is under partial control, according to the publication iefimerida.gr. The fire was noticed late Sunday evening, in a wooded area. 23 firefighters arrived at the scene of the fire with 1 group of military units, 7 cars and 2 specialized vehicles.
