A car was found in the port of Igoumenitsa, in the back of which there was a 15-year-old teenager with no signs of life.
It was found during the inspection of a truck with bicycles by the Igoumenitsa Port Authority. A special x-ray machine showed that there was a person among the vehicles.
The Coast Guard found the teenager unconscious and called the ΕΚΑΒ ambulance. In the emergency department of Igoumenitsa, the doctors could only state the death of the boy.
As informs thespro.gr, the Greek truck driver missed yesterday’s route to Italy and parked near the port. Apparently, a minor migrant managed to get into the body and hid between the bicycles in the evening hours. However, he could not stand the high temperature inside and died.
The driver was first detained, but then, on the prosecutor’s oral order, they were released. The investigation is being carried out by the Igoumenitsa Central Port Authority.
