American HIMARS were “destroyed” by Russian artillery

Today, for the first time, American advanced HIMARS surface-to-surface multiple launch rocket systems were destroyed on the battlefield. The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced their destruction by publishing the relevant material.

The Russian ministry also said that Russian troops destroyed two ammunition depots where HIMARS missiles were stored in Malotaranovka (Donetsk People’s Republic), near the front line in a village south of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region of Ukraine, which is the main point where Russian troops are concentrating after the capture of Lugansk last weekend.

This is the first destruction of American-made rocket launchers since 1991 after the destruction of their “ancestor” in the Gulf War.

Ukraine has received only four HIMARS systems since the beginning of July, according to a report by the European Council on Foreign Relations. The US has pledged to deliver eight by mid-July, but given the pace of their destruction, many more will be needed.

Russia stated from the very beginning that it aimed to destroy these systems. At the same time, the Russian Federation began bombing Kyiv again, which indicates that it is beginning to activate hostilities.

Up to 100 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine died at the temporary deployment point of the 22nd motorized rifle battalion of the 92nd motorized rifle brigade, located in Kharkov.

In the Shirokolanovka area of ​​the Nikolaev region, the Russian Aerospace Forces attacked the radar station of the S-300 anti-aircraft complex, as well as at the point of temporary deployment of foreign mercenaries in the Limansky district of the Nikolaev region.

On the eastern outskirts of the settlement of Soledar, Russian fighters destroyed the warehouses of the 57th mechanized brigade, which stored 1.5 million rockets of various calibers and more than a hundred Western anti-tank systems.

Besides:

• Six command posts were hit, including the operational group of troops “South”, the 79th airborne unit and the 57th mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Bashtansky, Nikolaevsky and Soledarsky districts.
• Six warehouses with weapons and ammunition in the areas of the Bashtan region, Mykolaiv region, in Ivano-Daryevka, Zaitsevo, Zvanovka, Artemovsk of the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kharkov, as well as personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in different regions.
• Russian Su-35 fighters shot down two Mi-24 helicopters and one Su-25 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force during an air battle near the settlements of Nikolaevka and Snegirevka in the Nikolaev region.
• Also, 11 Ukrainian drones were shot down in the settlements: Zeleny Gay, Mykolaiv region, Vernopolye, Dolgenkoye, Malye Prohody, Topolskoe, Chervonaya, Grushovka, Kharkiv region, Chernobaevka, Grozovoe, Novovladimirovka, Kherson region and Aleksandropolsky district of the Luhansk People’s Republic.
• The Russian Air Force destroyed the headquarters of the 79th brigade in Nikolaev, as well as the headquarters of the 93rd special forces brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kharkov.
• The 22nd motorized rifle battalion of the 92nd mechanized brigade in Kharkov also suffered significant losses.
