luxury hotel Amanzoe in Kranidi, Argolis, was evacuated on Monday evening after parts of the property were caught in a severe forest fire that broke out in the forest area of the Korakia region and was blown into the hotel grounds by the wind.
There are clear signs of arson, according to local media.
As can be seen from the videos and pictures of local residents, the flames spread to the grounds of the ultra-luxury hotel Amazoe. About 40 people, visitors and employees, evacuated from the hotel, were initially “trapped”: on the beach of the hotel complex. they were taken to safety by boat, according to local media. argolida24.gr around 21:30.
The bungalows were severely damaged in the fire, but the evacuation operation was successful and there were no casualties, local media reported.

According to local media argolikeseidhseis the facilities of the luxury hotel complex suffered severe damage despite firefighters fighting the blaze.
There are currently 63 firefighters in the area with 18 fire trucks and three foot brigades, with water drop planes and two helicopters helping until late dawn.
The municipal authorities of Hermionides placed water tanks to assist the firefighters.
Firefighters from Nafplion and Argos have been deployed to the Kranidi fire, while additional forces are expected to arrive from other areas of the Peloponnese soon.
Argolida24.gr reports that there are clear signs of arson, “since a couple of minutes before the fire broke out in the forest near the hotel, two more fires started in two abandoned houses in the settlements of the area. Thus, the firefighting force was split up before the first fires were put out, causing them to arrive at the hotel late.”
How reportedly the mayor of Hermiones, Yiannis Georgopoulos, also spoke of “arson”.
The local news site adds that the resort Amanzoe belongs to an international chain of luxury hotels.
The fire in Kranidi is just one of 53 natural and forest fires in the last 24 hours across Greece.
