Corinth: police found hemp "forest"


A large plantation of cannabis seedlings, more than 1200 pieces, was discovered by the police of the Anti-Narcotics Department of the city of Patras in the district of Reito in Corinth.

According to police, the plantation was discovered after using information gathered by DEA officials together with their counterparts from the Special Counterterrorism Unit.
Based on the information collected, a coordinated operation was organized on Saturday morning with the assistance of the Patras OPKE police and the Corinthian Security Department. During the operation, the police discovered an organized cannabis plantation of 1,210 seedlings in the dense forest of Reitos, in a specially designed area and with natural vegetation.
A few hours later, police officers detained a 36-year-old man, he was in a tent in the plantation area, as well as his foreign accomplice.

The plantation, according to the police, consisted of three levels, with a total area of ​​about 1,500 square meters. At the same time, law enforcement officers found a watering hose with a total length of 100 meters on the plantation, which was connected to water storage tanks, a makeshift hut with two camping tents, two water collection points, plenty of food and kitchen utensils.

Those arrested will be taken to the District Attorney of Corinth, while the narcotics prosecutor’s office will continue to investigate the case.
