Drug addict father tried to strangle 10-month-old baby

The video, which has been circulating on the Internet since yesterday, caused shock and shows how a father tries to strangle his child in the middle of the road near Omonia Square.

According to the information, the incident occurred on Wednesday, June 29, at 11:15 am. A 35-year-old gypsy, grabbing a child by the throat, tried to strangle him in front of his 34-year-old wife. The child is not even a year old, he was born in September 2021.
The couple reportedly have five children, while the father, who has problems with drug use, lives in the metropolitan area of ​​Zefiri, and his wife lives in Kolonos. On the day of the incident, the woman was in a hotel on Karolou Street in the center of Athens with a baby.

Her partner broke into the apartment, began to knock on the door of the room in which she was staying, and when the wife opened the door, entered, grabbed the child and tried to hide. The mother followed him, as a result of which an incident unfolded on the streets of the center of Athens, when the father of the child tried to strangle him.

After this incident, which ended with citizen intervention, the woman contacted the domestic violence department in Omonia and filed a lawsuit against her husband. He was detained, but in the evening the man was released. A criminal case has been initiated against him.

It is noteworthy that the baby’s father said: “I thought he was drowning, and went to save him.” (I take it the child was drowning on the sidewalk? editor’s note.)
