US authorities have detained a Greek tanker that was sailing from Russia to Louisiana with a cargo of oil products. About it informs The Wall Street Journal, citing informed sources.
The reason for the detention of the tanker is not called. It is known that the US authorities did not allow it to be unloaded. According to the WSJ, the ship is currently being inspected by US Customs and Border Protection. Sources of the publication confirmed that we are talking about a tanker Daytonawhich is owned by Greek shipowner TMS Tankers Ltd.
The vessel was chartered by the Swiss commodity trader Vitol. According to the sources of the publication, the tanker sailed from the Russian Taman Peninsula in the Black Sea in early June, it was carrying fuel oil and gas oil, and was scheduled to arrive in New Orleans on June 27.
