Gave sleeping pills and robbed the elderly – the arrest of a nurse

Law enforcement agencies of Greece have arrested a 47-year-old woman for robberies with the use of sleeping pills.

As it became known, she was arrested in the morning hours of Sunday, June 26, 2022 by the Sub-Directorate for the Investigation of Crimes against Life and Property. A criminal case has been initiated against a citizen for systematic robberies and violations of laws on weapons and drugs, reports ethnos.gr.

According to the investigation, the nurse serving patients at home acted in a certain way. First, she sought out older people who requested an exclusive housekeeper, and then contacted them to set up a meeting. During communication, she presented potential victims with false information about herself, and at the meeting she sought to gain their trust.

Further, assuming the duties of a domestic helper (and nurse), she used to plant sleeping pills in the food and drink of the elderly from the very first day, and then stole money, jewelry and other valuables.

During the searches, the following were found and confiscated:

• various jewelry and watches,
• bag with unknown chemical substance,
• tablets,
• 105 euros and a bank card,
• knife,
• 2 mobile phones and sim cards,
• notebook.

The detained woman with the materials against her was taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
