Social tourism 2022: more than half a million applications received

Received 532,000 applications for more than 966,000 vouchers under the subsidized program of social tourism from ΔΥΠΑ (formerly ΟΑΕΔ), literally “heated” the electronic platform.

According to the head of ΔΥΠΑ, Spyros Protopsaltis, who spoke on the ERT channel, this year has seen a record number of applications.

In the next 7-10 days, tables with preliminary results will be published. According to Mr. Protopsaltis, “Because the amount of data that needs to be obtained from the various services (cross data) is very large, it is currently impossible to determine exactly how long this will take.”

This year, the vacation subsidy is extended to all categories of accommodation (5-12% in hotels and 3-8% in rented rooms) to cover increased costs and ensure broad participation of the population in the program.

In addition, for the peak month of August, it is planned to increase the subsidy by 20%, as in the previous year, so that during this period there will be more participation of travel companies. The subsidy will apply throughout the year for accommodation in tourist accommodation in North Evia and Samos. Beneficiaries and their families can spend up to 6 nights at a tourist site of their choice from the ΔΥΠΑ Supplier Registry.

Maximum rest time is six nights (with a small surcharge by individuals). On the islands of Kos, Leros, Lesbos, Samos, Chios and Evros prefecture, 10 nights are provided (no extra charge). As part of the measures to support fire-affected areas, the maximum overnight stay in the municipalities of Istiaia-Edipsos and Mantoudi-Limni-Ag.Anna (Evia) is 12 nights.

In addition to accommodation in tourist sites, ferry tickets are also subsidized. The financial participation of the general category of beneficiaries is 25%, those with many children – 20%. For disabled ferry tickets are provided free of charge.

We remind you that the beneficiaries of last year’s program still have time to use their voucher until July 31, 2022. In addition, it is provided that beneficiaries who receive the check and do not use it will not be eligible for the following two programsso as not to deprive other beneficiaries of the opportunity to participate in the program.
