Secrets of the death of Diego Maradona

The medical staff who provided care before the death of Diego Maradona will face trial on charges of negligence that led to the death of the legendary football player.

He died of a heart attack at the age of 60, in November 2020, while at his home in Buenos Aires. The trial began after a complaint filed by the two daughters of Maradona. They expressed concern about their father’s treatment after brain surgery. Diego’s doctor Dr. Luque gave a tearful interview after Diego’s death, claiming that he did everything possible to save his friend’s life, “to the point of being impossible”:

“Do you want to know what I am responsible for? For loving him, for taking care of him, for extending his life, for improving it to the end.

Diego Maradona is one of the greatest soccer players ever. He captained the team when Argentina won the 1986 World Cup with the famous “Hand of God” goal against England in the quarter-finals.

In the second half of his career, Maradona tried to fight cocaine addiction, in 1991 he was suspended for 15 months after testing positive for the drug.

The news of his death plunged the football world and his native Argentina into deep mourning. Thousands of people lined up for hours to pass his coffin at the presidential palace in Buenos Aires during three days of national mourning.

But even Maradona’s most fanatical supporter would not deny the damage done to his body by years of addiction or the debilitating effects of his brain surgery. Nevertheless, there was a feeling in Argentina that the age of 60 was too merciless for the greatest player to pass away. The court will help answer questions about the exact circumstances of the death of one of Argentina’s greatest sons.
