After the recent increase in fares for all taxis, announced by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Beat reports that rent price her Taxi reduced from 2 euro up to 1.20 euros.
Greek media noted that Beat’s move to charge extra for each route caused a lot of backlash from passengers. The discount will apply to all routes from Friday 24/6 from 12:00.
Beat notes in a related announcement that partner drivers collect pre-rental fees, while for their part will continue to assess the need for charging, as well as the size of the fee, depending on the conditions of supply and demand. According to the company itself, since the first days of the application of the new rent, the following has been observed:
- 8 out of 10 Beat passengers are now served immediately.
- Beat’s 8,000 partner drivers have doubled the time they spend on the route platform.
- The number of orders through the application increased by 5%.
Recall that the company introduced a provisional rental price of 2 euros from June 16, before the announcement of the new taxi tariff by the ministry, citing “higher operating costs”, which caused a storm of reaction. “This change will increase the income of our drivers and allow us to serve more customers,” the company said at the time.
The discounted decision made the company a good PR, but it is not known how long the discounts will last, because taxi drivers work on the lines, refueling with gasoline and diesel fuel at prices that have increased by more than 70% compared to last year, and electricity for electric cars has increased three times.
