New taxi fares: €4 minimum fare

New single tariff entails significant increase in taxi fares.

In particular, the new price tag, which includes value added tax (VAT) of 13%, is as follows:

  • Tariff start (turning on the meter): 1.8 euros.
  • Account 1 (one-time payment): 0.9 euros.
  • Account 2 (for hours from 00:00 to 05:00): 1.25 euros.
  • Time payment / hour (for the period of TAXI stop when the route is executed for twenty (20) minutes): 15 euro
  • Minimum route price: 4 euro
  • From and to airports: + 4 euro
  • Surcharge if you take a taxi in ports, railway stations and intercity bus stations: +1.07.
  • Airport – the center of Athens and back: 40 euro
  • Airport – Athens city center and back (from 00:00 to 05:00): 55 euros.
  • Airport – the center of Thessaloniki and back: 25 euro
  • Airport – Thessaloniki center and back (from 00:00 to 05:00): 35 euro
  • Airport – Kavala center and back: 40 euro
  • Airport – Kavala center and back (from 00:00 to 05:00): 55 euro

It is specified that a fee of 4 euros to and from airports applies to all routes in the countrywith the exception of three, where predetermined prices are set (El. Venizelos Airport – the center of Athens, Macedonia Airport – the center of Thessaloniki and Kavala Airport “Alexander the Great” – the center of Kavala and vice versa).

Also, the fare for each (1) piece of baggage of passengers weighing more than 10 (ten) kg remains at the level of 0.39 euros, including VAT.

The new bill will come into force after the publication of the resolution in the Government Gazette.
