Below is a list of countries by life expectancy. Life expectancy (LE) is a value showing how long a group of people born in the same year will live on average if mortality in each age group remains at the same level.
For each country, the duration is given for the entire population and separately for the male and female population. The table, along with sovereign states, includes some dependent territories. The numbers reflect the quality of medical care, as well as factors such as the presence of hostilities and the prevalence of HIV. Only countries with a population of more than 100,000 people appear on the UN lists.
Healthy lifestyle years certainly account for 78% and 82% of total life expectancy for women and men, respectively. Therefore, on average, men tend to spend a larger percentage of their somewhat shorter lives without activity restrictions due to health problems.
Table. Women are on the left side of the list and men are on the right side, with the top of the list starting in the Member State with the highest average healthy years.
