Vice President of Gazprombank in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Former vice president of Gazprombank, Igor Volobuev, joined the Freedom of Russia legion and serves in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Telegram channel of the unit, in which he is fighting for the independence of Ukraine, published a video calling Volobuev to the Russians to join the legion. His appeal is quoted by the publication “New Newspaper. Europe”: “Guys from Russia, if you hate the Putin regime and want Russia to become a free, democratic country – join.”

In April, Volobuev told The Insider that he left Russia with the intention of joining Ukraine’s territorial defense ranks. According to the ex-top manager, he is Ukrainian, was born in the Sumy region, and “could no longer observe from the outside what Russia is doing with his homeland.”

In May, all funds disappeared from the accounts of Igor Volobuev at Gazprombank. After leaving Russia, he lost access to cards – Russian Visa and Mastercard stopped working abroad. Later, all his deposits disappeared from the banking application. Volobuev is sure that this is “retribution” for his “desertion”.

Previously news portal MK.RU said that the former vice-president of Gazprombank, Igor Volobuev, left for Ukraine and joined the defense industry:

Former vice-president of Gazprombank, Igor Volobuev, left Russia and went to Ukraine. He talked about it in the video. At the time of his departure, Volobuev was the acting vice president. Previously, he worked for 16 years in the information policy department of Gazprom.

In his video message, Volobuev says that he made the decision to leave Russia back in 2014, after the annexation of Crimea to Russia:

“My name is Volobuev Igor. I am a citizen of Russia. On March 2, I left Russia with the aim of coming to Ukraine, and at the time when I left Russia, I was the current vice president of Gazprombank, where I was engaged in PR of the bank’s industrial assets for more than six years.”

Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, reported in May that “the number of applications for joining the Freedom of Russia legion is going through the roof.” As Arestovich explains, this is a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, consisting of Russians.

And the popular Russian group “Nogu Svelo!” expressed her attitude to the “special operation” in her own way. By the Day of Russia, she timed the release of a new video “Ukraine, my second half.” The soloist of the group Maxim Pokrovsky wrote on Instagram:

“Today we give life to the song “Ukraine”. For the previous 34 years of our existence, we have walked difficult paths so that now, at this point, at this particular moment in time, this particular song will be born. What will happen to us all next, knows only the Almighty. We only know that everything will be fine with Ukraine.”

Since the beginning of the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, “The leg has cramped!” condemn the war. At the same time, the musicians are in the Peacemaker database, since they visited Crimea in 2015-2016 and supported its annexation, reports “Country”.
