Law on alienation is being prepared in Latvia "Houses of Moscow" and sanatoriums

By the anniversary of the entry of Soviet troops on June 17, 1940, Latvia is preparing a law on the alienation of Russian and Belarusian real estate.

Among the objects – the “House of Moscow” in Riga, the sanatorium “Yantarny Bereg” (owned by the state structure) and the sanatorium “Belarus” in Jurmala. This order was given by Janis Bordans, Minister of Justice of Latvia.

Latvia is going to use all these objects for accommodation of the Ukrainian refugees, rehabilitation of victims and needs of the information center. Janis Bordans tweeted:

“Both countries are directly responsible for the commission of criminal offenses and genocide, which is also stated in the statements of the Seimas and the European Council. In Latvia, there is already a legal mechanism within which the confiscation of property during the criminal process is possible. In order for the legislator to clearly express his will and resolved legal nuances, a special law is needed that removes any obstacles and interpretations regarding the alienation of these objects belonging to Russia and Belarus for the needs of the state and society.”

April sixth, according to Delphi, information was sent to the Latvian courts about the Jurmala sanatoriums belonging to the state structures of Russia and Belarus in order to freeze their assets. It was also decided to freeze the assets of the House of Moscow.
