The rescue operation is in full swing. The ship that ran aground near Crete is a yacht flying the flag of the state of Delaware (USA). There were 10 people on board. The ship appeared to be drifting 15 nautical miles west of the island due to lack of fuel, according to ERT Chania. The area is currently experiencing winds of force 5-6 on the Beaufort scale. After the end of the rescue operation, the yacht will be towed to a safe port.

In March of this year, our publication reported that a large-scale rescue operation took place in the Aegean. A boat carrying 100 Afghan migrants sank off the coast of the Greek island of Paros, alarming authorities and the coast guard. According to the information, 100 migrants were sent from Afghanistan to Italy. Everyone on the boat was rescued after a massive Coast Guard operation.
