Tragedy in Bangladesh: at least 40 victims, 450 injured, many missing

A large-scale fire at a private container warehouse in the southeast of Bangladesh, in the city of Chittagong, has not been extinguished for more than a day. The bodies of the dead continue to be carried out, the exact number of victims is still impossible to establish.

A fire broke out on Saturday at a clothing container warehouse. Firefighters, rescuers, journalists and doctors arrived at the scene of the fire. However, about two hours later, during rescue operations, a powerful explosion thundered, reports Indian TV.

Preliminary information suggests that a container with chemicals exploded. As of Sunday evening, the fire could not be extinguished. Rescuers take out the wounded and the dead from the scene of the incident. Many people have gone missing. The exact number of victims is still unknown.

Emergency services, military, volunteers are working at the scene.
