Bulgaria, Romania and Montenegro were the target of a tweet from Dmitry Rogozin, head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos.
What caused such a tough reaction of a high-ranking official? Three NATO countries (Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro) prevented Sergey Lavrov from visiting Serbia by closing their airspace and thus “blocking” the trip of the Russian foreign minister.
Rogozin threatened to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile “Satan-2”. In a tweet, he wrote: “That’s what is good “Sarmat”? He will not ask cowardly Bulgarians, vindictive Romanians and Montenegrins who betrayed our common history for consent to fly. Just like other Swedes“.

In response, the head of Roskosmos was bombarded with insulting comments.
Lavrov’s plane was not allowed into Serbia
The decision of a number of NATO countries not to let the plane of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation into Serbia is unprecedented, such a policy blocks Belgrade’s international activities in the Russian direction. Sergei Lavrov announced this on June 6.
“Of course, the unthinkable happened, I understand the interest that you show in our assessment of these outrageous actions,” the Russian Foreign Minister told reporters at a press conference (quoted from TASS).
According to Lavrov, such actions deprived the sovereign state (Serbia) of the right to implement foreign policy. “Serbia’s international activities have been blocked, at least for the moment, in the Russian direction,” the minister said.
In Lavrov’s opinion, “things in the West are quite bad” if they perceive the visit of the Russian foreign minister to Serbia “as almost a threat on a global scale.”
On June 6 and 7, Sergei Lavrov was to visit Serbia. However, it had to be canceled due to the fact that Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro, surrounding Serbia, closed their airspace to the plane of the Russian Foreign Minister. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, confirmed this information. The Bulgarian Foreign Ministry explained that the decision was made in connection with the “sanctions regime of the European Union against Russia.”
