Attica: more than 20,000 fines in May for parking on sidewalks and places for the disabled

According to the report for May this year, the traffic police confirmed 22,626 violations and made 71 arrests in Attica.

According to the authorities, 1,058 misdemeanors were confirmed, 15,654 administrative fines (not including parking) and 5,238 administrative fines for parking were collected, as well as 676 violations related to the freedom of movement of persons with disabilities (occupation of special parking spaces by other cars).

At the same time, during inspections carried out in the center of Athens in May 2022, police officers from the Athens Road Sub-Directory confirmed 5,073 violations and arrested 38 people, reports dikaiologitika.gr.

In particular, 223 offenses, 2141 administrative fines (excluding parking), 2459 administrative fines for parking and 250 violations related to the freedom of movement of persons with disabilities were confirmed.

As the guide says ΕΛΑΣ, “The fight against offenses that impede the movement of pedestrians and drivers, as well as have a negative impact on the daily lives of citizens and worsen the quality of life, is a key priority for law enforcement. In this context, special actions will continue with unabated intensity.”
