Tragedy in Arta: 67-year-old man dies from wasp sting

An incredible tragedy happened in the village of Arta: a man was stung by a wasp, after which he died.

As the Athenian News wrote earlier, the tragic finale of a vacation in Greece overtook a woman who was stung by a wasp. A tourist from Bulgaria, who spent her vacation in Kefalonia with her husband, was stung by a wasp. As a result, the woman instantly developed allergic shockwhich caused death.

According to preliminary information, a 67-year-old local resident was on the estate and was working in the garden. At some point, he suddenly felt an insect bite and, knowing that he was allergic, immediately called an ambulance.

After a short time, EKAB doctors arrived and took him to the local hospital in Arta. There, doctors and medical staff made superhuman efforts to bring the elderly man back to life. The patient had to be intubated. However, it was too late, the man died. The wasp sting was fatal to him, reports newsbreak.gr.

In Greece, incidents of this kind often occur when people are stung by wasps and bees.

It all happened in Myrtos, when a married couple was relaxing on the beach. At some point, the woman screamed when she felt the bite, and her husband ran into the hotel building to call the staff for help. Despite the fact that the doctors had an antidote, and in an ambulance she was taken to the Health Center, the tourist died.

Recall that in Greece every year similar incidents – stings of bees and wasps. However, in most cases, the victims can be saved.
