Two housekeepers are accused of stealing 50 gold lira from the home of an elderly man where they worked in Agios Pavlos (Thessaloniki).
The 91-year-old owner of the house and the employer of two foreign women filed a police report when he discovered that expensive coins were missing from the place where he kept them. The police located the housekeepers and arrested them. No coins were found after a search of their home. An investigation is underway.

The young woman was employed in care homes for the elderly in areas located in the eastern part of Thessaloniki. She is charged with four thefts (from September 2020 to the same month in 2021). The total damage caused to families, the so-called “loot” of the domestic helper, amounts to about 13,000 euros.
The woman was hired by the family as a housekeeper or looked after the elderly, while, according to police, taking advantage of the absence of the owners of the home or the limited perception of the elderly due to illness, she took jewelry and money out of the houses. The thefts took place in the areas of Θέρμης, Ταγαράδων and Ρυσίου. The Thermis security officers who were investigating the case arrested an Albanian during the theft, catching her red-handed. In addition, the woman did not have documents allowing her to legally stay in the country. The materials of the theft case are in the prosecutor’s office of Thessaloniki.
Another story – and even worse. Greek law enforcement agencies are on a manhunt to find and arrest an extremely dangerous woman who was hired as a housekeeper to a certain elderly resident of Nikiya, robbed him and almost sent him to the next world. Neighbors of an elderly man for whom a foreign woman worked called the police after seeing that the old man’s health was in danger. Residents of the apartment building began to call all sorts of services to help their neighbor – an unfortunate elderly man who was found in a semi-conscious state.
According to the information, when the police started investigating, they were told that the elderly man had previously hired a domestic help through an advertisement. However, she disappeared yesterday, taking with her all the savings of the old man. The elderly man was taken to the Nikiya State Hospital. His health condition remains stable.
