Greek island that Bill Gates wants to buy for 26 million euros

Petalia, an archipelago of islands located in the southern part of the Gulf of Evia, was “laid eyes” by tycoon Bill Gates, who visited Greece and was struck on the spot by its beauties.

On the western side of the island of “Megalonisos” Petalia there is an amazing bay where the color of the water is simply incredible blue. It is a windless, spacious bay with shallow water and white sand forming small sand dunes.

Near the beach are the ruins of buildings from the era of Ottoman rule, in which the harem of Omer, the Sultan of Karystos, lived, from the chambers of the palace of which Khanuma looked into the distance at the endless turquoise expanses.

It seems that at first sight he fell in love with the boundless turquoise expanses of Hellas, he wanted to come here more often and even live at times. Therefore, he decided to purchase an island ridge, especially since he can afford it. So, some trifle, the amount of the transaction is only 26 million euros.

A few words about Petal:

Petali is an island complex located in the southern part of the Gulf of Evia. It belongs to the municipality of Karistos in the region of Central Greece. The complex includes 10 islands, all of them are uninhabited. However, in the recent past, Megalonisos and Chersonisi, the largest islands of the complex, had a small population. The other islands are Avgo, Lamperousa, Luludi, Makronisi, Pontikonissos, Praso, Tragos and Foudi. The total area of the complex is about 22.5 square kilometers.

Petali, during the Turkish occupation, belonged to Sultan Omer of Karystos, where his harem was located. The islands enchant with turquoise waters and exotic beaches unlike any other in southern Evia.

About the “paradise”, located just half an hour from Athens (if you get by sea), they wrote Athens News.
