The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine dismissed Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova with the wording “for lack of confidence.” The reason was the numerous fakes spread by Denisova, which, according to the deputies of the Rada, discredits Ukraine.
The ruling Servant of the People party, which includes Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed its claims against the work of the Ombudsman. First of all, there is an “incomprehensible concentration” of media work on unproven sexual crimes in a particularly perverted form. 234 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada voted for the dismissal of Lyudmila Denisova from her post. There is no new candidate for the position yet.
As people’s deputy Pavel Frolov wrote, there are several reasons for dismissal:
- The “incomprehensible concentration” of Lyudmila Denisova’s media work on the details of “sexual crimes in a perverse form” and “child rape”, which she could not confirm with evidence. Which, according to the deputies, only harmed Ukraine and distracted the attention of the world media.
Note that Denisova indeed very often published shocking information about sexual violence by Russian soldiers against children (including one-year-old babies). It was picked up by the Western media, but this, as a rule, was not supported by evidence, which the “servants of the people” drew attention to. - Eliminated from the issues of organizing humanitarian corridors and the exchange of prisoners.
- After February 24, she spent a lot of time abroad.
We are talking about Denisova’s numerous statements, in particular about the “rape of children in Bucha”, “the rape of a baby with a spoon” or other similar cases without names and evidence – in order to understand what so outraged the representatives of the ruling party (editor’s note).
Denisova said she would appeal her dismissal in court today. She wrote about this on her Facebook page. Denisova believes that she was fired in violation of the Constitution. “Of course, I will accept any decision of the deputies, whether it be distrust or support, but it reminds me a bit of a totalitarian state. And we must not forget that our country is moving towards a Europe where the rule of law reigns,” said the former Ombudsman.
